The New York Rangers are getting some help on the blue line.
Defenceman Adam Fox has been activated from long-term injured reserve and is expected to make his return to the lineup on Wednesday afternoon against the Washington Capitals, according to a report from Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Fox has been sidelined for over a month; he last played in a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 29. He exited the defeat early following a hit from Brandon Hagel, and was placed on LTIR the following day.
The 27-year-old has three goals, 23 assists and is a plus-four through 27 games this season.
The Rangers have assigned defenceman Scott Morrow to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack in a corresponding move.
